The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) announced today Carrie Barton will perform the National Anthem during its 71st Annual Awards Luncheon on October 8 at the Irving Convention Center (new location).
A resident of Fort Worth, Barton started singing solos in church as a little girl. She was part of a family quartet, performing with a jazz vocal ensemble at her church growing up in Chatsworth, California.
In 2005, she started singing the National Anthem for sports teams across the country including the Los Angeles Dodgers, Texas Rangers, Houston Astros, Baltimore Orioles, Arizona Diamondbacks and the Kansas City Royals.
She is a member of the Hillside Community Church in Keller and resides with her husband, Brian and son Kevin in Fort Worth.
Barton will carry on a tradition at DFWHC’s Annual Awards Luncheon where regional talent performs the National Anthem, with past performers including the Dallas Street Choir, Freddie Jones, Jason Castro, Celena Rae and The Cactus Cuties.
