Sponsorships and tickets are now available to the DFW Hospital Council’s (DFWHC) 78th Annual Awards Luncheon on October 16 at the Loews Arlington Hotel and Convention Center.

This year’s event is themed, “Exceeding Your Vision,” and will include the introduction of the chairs of the boards of trustees of all DFWHC-member hospitals to open the program. An attendance of 800-plus is expected.

The award recipients will include:

    Duncan Webb, former Chair of Medical City Plano and the Collin County Commissioner, with the Distinguished Health Service Award;

    Barclay Berdan, the long-time CEO of Texas Health Resources, with the Boone Powell, Sr. Award of Excellence;

    Graham Torres, the Vice President of Operations at Children’s Health, as the Young Healthcare Executive of the Year;

    Rev. Ralph Emerson, the long-time board member of the Tarrant County Hospital District and JPS Health Network, as the Kerney Laday, Sr. Trustee of the Year.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Amanda Beard, an American swimmer and seven-time Olympic medalist. Beard was just 14 years-old the first time she made an Olympic appearance, often photographed clutching her teddy bear. Beard had the distinction of being the second-youngest American Olympic medalist in history. She is also an author, former model and mental health survivor.

Sponsored in part by Hall Render, Forvis Mazars and PwC, the event will begin with a reception at 11:00 a.m. followed by the luncheon and awards from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m.
