In Mitchell Schnurman’s column this morning in The Dallas Morning News detailing the early achievements of The Affordable Care Act, Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council President/CEO W. Stephen Love offered his opinion on its local success.

“The intent of the law is to expand coverage and access in a cost-effective manner, and thus far, that’s been pretty much achieved,” said Love.

Schnurman detailed a legal brief filed by HCA Inc. (Hospital Corp. of America). The nation’s largest private healthcare provider and a major player in North Texas with 11 local hospitals including Medical City Dallas, Las Colinas Medical Center and Plaza Medical Center Fort Worth, HCA’s early experience shows the health law is achieving core objectives.
