A tribute to Douglas Hawthorne originally scheduled for the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council’s (DFWHC) Annual Awards Luncheon on October 21, has been rescheduled for the American College of Healthcare Executives’ (ACHE) Membership Meeting, November 13 at The Adolphus Hotel in Dallas. The DFWHC Annual Awards Luncheon was cancelled due to the Ebola response in the metroplex.
Hawthorne stepped down as CEO of Texas Health Resources this year, serving as leader since its inception in 1997 when he orchestrated the consolidation of Presbyterian Healthcare Resources, Harris Methodist Health System and Arlington Memorial Hospital. The DFWHC tribute will include a “thank you” video from area healthcare executives and a gift presentation.
“We are thankful to ACHE of North Texas for allowing us this opportunity to honor Douglas Hawthorne for his decades of service to the region’s healthcare,” said W. Stephen Love, president/CEO of DFWHC. “We are looking forward to the video’s premiere and the acknowledgment of a distinguished career.”
The ACHE of North Texas Membership Dinner is from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Lee J. Colan, Ph.D. will serve as keynote speaker. Josh Floren, FACHE, of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano, is the president of the board of directors. For information, please click here.
