10/18/2019

You don’t want to miss this! The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) in coordination with Hall Render is flying in a pair of prominent national speakers on November 5 to discuss Medicaid 1115 and coverage expansion for a complimentary educational event from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas.

Titled “Coverage Expansion and Medicaid Waivers,” the breakfast seminar will be highlighted by Brian Neale, an independent consultant who has worked with Vice President Mike Pence as a legislative director and advisor on Medicaid expansion in Indiana. Neale is the former deputy administrator and director of Medicaid and CHIP at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Neale also served as the director of the Joint Economic Committee for Senator Dan Coats.

He will be joined by Ted Kennedy, a shareholder at Hall Render with extensive experience in healthcare law and reimbursement. He also assisted the state of Indiana in developing its Section 1115 healthcare coverage expansion.

“This is a great opportunity to understand the significance of Medicaid 1115 waivers,” said W. Stephen Love, president/CEO of DFWHC. “These are two men who can provide a perspective on the importance of waiver renewal in Texas and discuss expectations and options for the future.”

Love will provide introductions and moderate the conversation and Q&A.
