The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) Foundation has announced Derreck Kayongo will serve as the guest speaker during its 20th Annual Employee of the Year Luncheon, April 27, 2016 at the Irving Convention Center.
Kayongo is a world-famous business visionary and the founder of the Global Soap Project. Today he serves as the CEO of the Center for Civil and Human Rights. Kayongo fled civil war in Uganda and settled in the U.S. when he was just ten years old. Now a successful entrepreneur, he is a renowned expert in environmental sustainability and global health. The Global Soap Project takes donated, melted, purified and reprocessed hotel soap and redistributes it to vulnerable populations around the world.
Kayongo’s appearance will be in support of the luncheon’s theme “Do Great Things!” You can see a CNN video on his humanitarian efforts here.
The DFWHC Foundation’s Employee of the Year Luncheon is a salute to the North Texas hospital workforce. The luncheon’s goal is to inspire great hospital employees from all departments. More than 100 nominees are introduced and award recipients are asked to come to the stage to receive their award. Nominee forms will be distributed to hospitals this month.
