The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) has hired the Dallas Street Choir to perform the National Anthem during its 70th Annual Awards Luncheon on October 17 at the Arlington Convention Center.
The Dallas Street Choir was established in 2014 with a mission is to provide a musical outlet for those experiencing homelessness and severe disadvantage. To date, more than 1,000 individuals have attended the weekly rehearsals, amassing more than 5,000 hours of cultural enrichment.
In addition to presenting concerts at The Stewpot, a social service agency in downtown Dallas, the Dallas Street Choir has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Winspear Opera House, the Dallas City Performance Hall and the George W. Bush Presidential Library. The Dallas Street Choir is conducted by its founder, Dr. Jonathan Palant.
The Dallas Street Choir will carry on a tradition at DFWHC’s Annual Awards Luncheon where regional talent performs the National Anthem, with past performers including Freddie Jones, Jason Castro, Celena Rae and The Cactus Cuties.
