Agency Creative to produce film on history of DFWHC’s Annual Awards Luncheon

The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) has recruited Agency Creative, the Dallas marketing and advertising agency, to produce a film on the history of its Annual Awards Luncheon. The film will debut during DFWHC’s 70th Annual Awards Luncheon on October 17 at the Arlington Convention Center.

Interviews with DFWHC President/CEO W. Stephen Love and former President/CEO John Gavras were filmed at Agency Creative’s offices this week.

“We believed it was important to document the long history of this event in honor of its 70th anniversary,” Love said. “Having worked with Agency Creative in the past, we thought they would be the perfect team to produce this film. It’s been a long and storied history for the Annual Awards Luncheon, in many ways mirroring the history of not just North Texas healthcare, but Dallas and Fort Worth.”

Agency Creative had previously worked with DFWHC on the “Stop C-Diff Now” and “Growing Little Minds” campaigns.

Prior to the film’s production, DFWHC team members sifted through thousands of photographs and videos of past luncheons to put together a workable timeline for the project. Nary a file cabinet went unopened during the process, with photographs discovered from events dating back to the 1950’s.

“It’s been a great effort from the teams here at DFWHC and Agency Creative,” said Love. “We are looking forward to the film’s debut at our luncheon as well as honoring the many great friends of North Texas healthcare.”

Charlie Powell will be honored with the 2018 Distinguished Health Service Award at the luncheon. Additional honorees include Jyric Sims of Medical City Fort Worth as the Young Healthcare Executive of the Year and Jim L. Turner of Baylor Scott & White Health as the Kerney Laday, Sr. Trustee of the Year. The luncheon will open with the introduction of the Chairs of the Boards of Trustees of all DFWHC-member hospitals.
