D Healthcare Daily details Fort Worth panel discussion

D Healthcare Daily Editor Matt Goodman was on hand for Wednesday’s panel discussion “Transforming Health and Health Care” at Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth. The panel included Barclay Berdan, CEO of Texas Health Resources; Stuart Flynn, MD, Dean of TCU and the University of North Texas Health Science Center School (UNTHSC) of Medicine; and Bill Thornton, President of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce. Kristin Jenkins, President of the DFW Hospital Council Foundation, served as moderator.

Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price opened the program with an update on the city’s Blue Zone Project Initiative.

“Blue Zones, a five-year project launched in 2014 alongside the city and Texas Health Resources with the infrastructure help from Healthways and a large donation from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, among others, is showing results in increasing the well-being of Cowtowners, Price said.”
