The Texas Health Informatics Alliance (THIA) will host its “First Annual Conference” on Thursday, September 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., CDT. The complimentary virtual event will be ideal for researchers, developers, health professionals, information management professionals and data scientists.
The conference will feature two keynote speakers, a panel presentation, four plenaries, and four student presentations. Keynote speakers include Peter J. Hotez, MD, PhD, dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine and professor of pediatrics and molecular virology and microbiology at Baylor College of Medicine; and Nora Belcher, executive director of the Texas e-Health Alliance, a nonprofit that advocates for the use of information technology to improve the health care system.
There has also been a call for abstracts.
The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston joined forces with The University of Texas at Arlington and The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center to form THIA, which aims to enhance health informatics across the state through partnerships in research, data, policy, education, standards, and workforce development.
