Offering his insight on national issues involving health care, Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council President/CEO Steve Love participated in the taping of the television program McCuistion in the episode “Health Care: The Public Policy Issues.” The episode will air this Sunday, December 23 at 12:30 p.m. on KERA Channel 13 (www.kera.org).

In addition to Love, panelists Stanley F. Hupfeld, chairman Integris Health Systems and author of “Malpractice: How the Politicians Made a Mess of Health Reform,” and Devon M. Herrick, senior fellow, National Center for Policy Analysis, joined host Dennis McCuistion.

The program will detail policy issues involving heath care, changes in the health care system and “real world” solutions to make the health care system more effective.

“The American health care system is routinely criticized by both liberals and conservatives,” said McCuistion. “Thanks to the unfunded liabilities of Medicare and Medicaid, health care today is the single biggest threat to fiscal sanity. What are we to do about the public policy issues surrounding health care?”
