The American Heart Association dropped a video this week detailing why it’s safe to call 911 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
911 data in North Texas and across the U.S. shows a sharp drop in emergency calls due to residents’ fear of catching COVID-19. End result – more patients are dying of heart attacks and strokes.
As the video states, hospitals and ambulances are safe and if residents show any warning signs of a heart attack or stroke, they should immediately call 911. Sheltering in place does not mean to avoiding to call 911 should you have symptoms.
When a medical emergency strikes – always call 911!
