The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) Foundation will host the complimentary educational event “Opioid Management: A Path for the Future” on November 13 from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon in Frisco at the new Texas Scottish Rite Hospital.

Topics will detail the U.S. opioid epidemic and what strategies are being employed to ensure patients and communities are better served.

Speakers will include:
• Lisa Sullivan, DEA – Drug Diversion-Safety Implications;
• Dr. Judy Embry, co-chair, Baylor Scott & White Health Pain/Opioid Ambulatory Initiative;
• Dr. Artee Gandhi, Medical Director Pain Management, Cook Children’s.

The target audience for this event includes clinicians, physicians, nurses and resource workers focused on healthcare and the community.

CNEs will be offered. The DFWHC Research and Education Foundation is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association – Approver, an accredited approver with distinction, by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

CEUs for social workers will also be offered.
