The Health Industry Council Foundation will host the breakfast event “Training the Next Generation of Physicians: Building the Empathetic Scholar” on Dec. 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the UNT Health Science Center (UNTHSC) campus in Fort Worth.

The event will be held in the IREB Building on the second floor in room 230. Keynote speaker will be Dr. Jo Anna Leuck, an assistant Dean of Curriculum and associate professor of medical education at Texas Christian University and UNTHSC School of Medicine.

This session will detail the proper training of future physicians. Dr. Leuck practices clinically at the Texas Health Harris Methodist Fort Worth Emergency Department as a staff physician. She also travels internationally to low-resource settings to educate physicians about emergency medicine procedures and to work with other educators globally on curriculum development for medical students and residents.
