DFWHC Foundation’s “Performance Improvement” event at Cook Children’s

The DFWHC Foundation Performance Improvement (PI) Committee will host its second event of the year “Continuous Improvement Strategies to Generate Positive Outcomes” on Thursday, November 20 at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth from 3:00-6:30 p.m., CDT. The educational event will be complimentary and will include four presentations and eight speakers.

The agenda will include:

    • “Logistics, Operational Excellence Journey at Cook Children’s” with Shernette Kydd, PhD, PE, MBA, LSSMBB, CPHQ, LBC, AVP of System Effectiveness at Cook Children’s;

    • “Beyond Quick Fixes: Building Sustainable Performance Improvement in the Healthcare Industry” with Hellen Oduor, Director of Quality at Methodist Charlton Medical Center;

    • “Building a Culture of Continuous Improvement” with Sissy Cross, BS, MS, Research Supervisor at Cook Children’s;

    • and the Panel Discussion “Process Improvement Unplugged: Real Stories, Real Impact” with Shernette Kydd serving as moderator and speakers Tanya Stinson, Owner/Founder of Leaning Towards Change; Angela Vincent Michael, MHS-HFM, FACHE, LSSBB, CPHQ, Director of Performance Improvement at Methodist Health System; Hellen Oduor, Director of Quality, at Methodist Dallas Medical Center; and Cassandra Self, DHA, FACHE, CVAHP, CMM, LSSBB, Professional Services and Finance Officer at Texas Health Resources.

A networking reception sponsored by Cook Children’s will follow from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Event objectives will include:

    1. Recognize the impact of Lean Six Sigma White Belt training on staff knowledge, confidence and readiness to lead process improvement initiatives.

    2. Describe institutional strategies for scaling process improvement education, including program expansion, multidisciplinary engagement and establishing internal committees.

    3. Outline step-by-step strategies for designing and implementing a scalable Lean Six Sigma White Belt program.
