DFWHC and ACC webinar “Preventing Violence in the Workplace”

Chris Wilson / June 11 @ 2:00 pm / Events

The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) and Abilene Christian University will co-host the webinar “Identifying and Preventing Violence in the Workplace” on Wednesday, June 11 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., CDT.

Speakers will include Dr. Brenda McAdoo, a former FBI hostage negotiator and a Professor of Criminal Justice at Abilene Christian University; and Stephen Love, President/CEO of DFWHC.

Workplace violence in hospitals is a growing concern, affecting healthcare workers and negatively impacting patient care. Healthcare workers are five times more likely to experience workplace violence than employees in other industries. This violence can range from verbal threats to physical assault and even homicide. Join us for this complimentary discussion with Dr. McAdoo, a former member of the FBI Crisis Negotiation Team where she served as team leader for seven years, to learn the signs of potential violence and how to prevent escalation to ensure a safe workplace environment.
