Donate Life Texas will host a donor registration drive on Friday, April 13 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. at Victory Plaza, outside the WFAA studio on 3030 Olive Street in Dallas.
The event is expected to encourage local residents to register their decision to become organ, eye and tissue donors.
More than 10,000 Texans are on the waiting list for an organ transplant and more than 114,000 people in the U.S. are on the list. Sadly, 22 people die each day waiting for a lifesaving transplant.
One person can touch more than 75 lives through the gift of organ, eye and tissue donation.
Come meet representatives from Donate Life Texas, the organ and tissue registry in the state of Texas to learn about organ, eye and tissue donation and how you can help save lives.
This organ donor registration event is being held in honor of National Donate Life Month, which occurs every April.
The Donate Life Texas organ, eye and tissue donor registry started in 2006 and now has more than 10 million registrants, making it the country’s second largest donor registry. The registry is supported by the Texas organ procurement organization Southwest Transplant Alliance, an associate member of the DFW Hospital Council.
