Stephen Love, president/CEO of the DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) was named to the 5-Star Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in October. As part of the Chamber’s leadership, Love will serve as an advocate for Irving-Las Colinas businesses and its workforce.

DFWHC’s headquarters has been located in Irving since 1982. Love has served as president/CEO of the North Texas hospital trade association since 2007.

“We’re grateful that Stephen Love has chosen to commit his service to our community through the Chamber,” said Beth Bowman, president/CEO of the Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce. “He is helping to build a city that’s a great place to live, work, play, walk and visit. He is helping to maintain and grow Irving’s tax base and supporting a safe, satisfying quality of life for Irving-Las Colinas residents.”

The Chamber is halfway through the five-year strategic plan Powering Progress: For You. Through You. With You. The project’s mission is to create a favorable business environment for investors resulting in sustainable economic growth. Part of Love’s responsibilities will include oversight and accountability for the strategic plan.

“It’s an honor to be a part of the Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors,” said Love. “The DFW Hospital Council has been a part of this community for more than 35 years and we are excited to support the city’s leaders. I am looking forward to working with the board on future projects.”

Love’s first board meeting was in November. The Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce was the first in Texas and one of only 124 among the 7,000 chambers in the country to be named a Five Star Chamber by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
