In an interview yesterday on NewsRadio 1080 KRLD, DFW Hospital Council President/CEO Stephen Love discussed the one-year anniversary of the COVID-19 pandemic in the U.S.

“When the first case came to North Texas, the reality sank in – this truly is a pandemic,” said Love. “Based on everything the physicians had said, it was going to spread quickly, and how right they were.”

Love said the ongoing pandemic has much in common with past influenza epidemics.

“I compare it to the influenza epidemic of 1918,” he said. “They continued to have wave, after wave, after wave, and it went on for three years. We’re a long way from being out of here. This is still serious.”
