Following the instructions of its board of trustees, the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council produced a tribute video on Douglas D. Hawthorne, the long-time CEO of Texas Health Resources who stepped down this year. The video was to premiere at DFWHC’s Annual Awards Luncheon on Oct. 21, but the event was cancelled due to the Ebola response in the metroplex. The video had its official premiere Nov. 13 at the ACHE of North Texas’ membership dinner in Dallas.
The honorary video features comments from healthcare executives of Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, UT Southwestern Medical Center, Methodist Health System, JPS Health Network, Cook Children’s Health Care System, Children’s Health System of Texas and Baylor Scott & White Health.
“The DFWHC Board wanted to honor Doug Hawthorne’s considerable career with this video,” said W. Stephen Love, president/CEO of DFWHC. “A lot of coordination went into its production, but I think it’s a testament to Doug’s career that so many executives came together to offer their respect. It is also a great example of the type of collaboration and support regularly seen in North Texas healthcare.”
