For the third straight year, the DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) will sponsor the local airing of “I’m Listening,” a national suicide prevention program to be broadcast on Wednesday, September 21. As part of Audacy’s ongoing mental health initiative, in partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, this year’s campaign will be broadcast from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., CST, on more than 230 Audacy radio stations, and live-streamed via Audacy’s digital app and website.

The two-hour special will be hosted by “Today” co-host Carson Daly, and will include celebrities such as Carrie Underwood, Ed Sheeran, Adele, Vice President Kamala Harris, Lizzo, Maren Morris, Charlie Puth, Ricky Williams and Stephen A. Smith, all of whom will share personal mental health stories. Co-hosting with Daly will be psychologist, author, scientist and founder of mental health nonprofit the AAKOMA Project, Dr. Alfiee M. Breland-Noble.

As part of the special, to feature a live national discussion about mental health, AFSP Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Christine Moutier, will join Katie Neal, host of Audacy’s nationally syndicated country show “Katie + Company,” to respond to caller questions and stories with real-time advice.

“We all have a connection with someone we know and love who’s struggling, and too many people are afraid to show and share their vulnerabilities,” said Audacy Senior VP Programming Dave Richards. “Thankfully each year, ‘I’m Listening’ shares more stories of hope, letting people know they are not alone, and each year the conversation really does become easier for more people to join. The more people we connect with the better. We know firsthand, talk saves lives.”

DFWHC President/CEO Stephen Love adds, “This is an important cause and we are proud to be a part of this broadcast. Talking about mental health can only save lives. The ‘I’m Listening’ program creates much-needed conversation and provides support to North Texas residents who may be struggling with depression and thoughts of suicide. It’s important to let our residents know they are not alone and there are resources available.”

“I’m Listening” will be broadcast locally on Channel Q. KVIL-HD3; 100.3 KJKK-FM; 103.7 KVIL-FM; 98.7 KLUV-FM; 1080 KRLD-AM; and 105.3 KRLD FM. The program will also be broadcast in Spanish on 107.5 KMVK-FM.
