The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) in coordination with Ryan Gebhart, president of Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Frisco at PGA Parkway, hosted the second Young Healthcare Executive Cohort meeting of the year yesterday at Children’s Medical Center Plano. More than 15 DFW administrative residents and fellows turned out for the event.
Gebhart, DFWHC board member and the 2024 Young Healthcare Executive of the Year, served as host and provided introductions. Vanessa Walls, DFWHC Chair and Chief Market Executive of the Northern Market for Children’s Health, provided a presentation on the new Children’s Medical Center construction project that is a joint venture with UT Southwestern Medical Center.
Residents and fellows were also given a tour of the newly opened Children’s Medical Center Plano patient tower. Additional attendees included Stephen Love, president/CEO of DFWHC, and Jen Miff, president of the DFWHC Foundation.
“We were delighted that 16 administrative residents and fellows from across the region were able to participate,” said Love. “We were happy to attend this event to reflect DFWHC’s support for this networking opportunity. It is evident that we have dynamic future leaders for healthcare in North Texas.”
The DFWHC Board of Trustees initiated the program in 2017 to encourage collaboration for up-and-coming hospital executives in North Texas. A final Young Healthcare Executive Cohort meeting is scheduled before the end of the year.
