The Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council (DFWHC) hosted its first Speed Networking Event of 2014 today at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. The complimentary breakfast session from 8:00-10:00 a.m. was attended by 40 area healthcare employees including Steve Love, president/CEO of DFWHC; Lupe Fernandez, president of Entrust One Facility Services, Inc.; Jai Sharma, director of institutional risk management at Parkland Health & Hospital System; and Sonya Hughes, epidemiologist at Dallas County Health and Human Services.
There were also employees from Baylor Scott and White Health, UT Southwestern Medical Center, University of Texas at Dallas, Maxim Healthcare Services and Texas Health Resources.
“This networking exercise is a great opportunity for our hospital and associate members to visit one-on-one and make valuable contacts,” said Love. “I am always impressed by the wide variety of people I meet during these events and ultimately it’s good exposure for our healthcare friends.”
In the coordinated sessions, after six minutes a bell rings and attendees move to the next chair to meet a new healthcare contact. Following the event, a list of attendees was made available to all participants. A second Speed Networking Event is being planned for April.
