The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) and FORVIS live webinar “Market Perspective: Pursuit of the Value-Centric Enterprise” originally broadcast on November 9 has been posted online.
The complimentary session included guest speaker Craig Tolbert, Principal based out of Birmingham, Alabama and the National Practice Leader – Healthcare Strategy and Finance at FORVIS; and moderator Chris Wilson, communications director at DFWHC.
With COVID-19 dramatically pausing the market’s transition to value, the pandemic underscored the need for value-based care while exposing the challenges of addressing social determinants of health and inequities of care in underserved populations. Emerging from the pandemic, renewed problems took precedence including:
- • Expiring CARES Act funds;
• Labor shortages and skyrocketing expenses;
• Capacity constraints and associated volume and revenue recovery;
• Inflationary impact on operating expense, drugs, and medical supplies;
• Disappearing margins and economic survival.
During the session, Tolbert discussed the Healthcare Market Point of View to clearly define value, redefined care delivery models, and the next phase of transformation and innovation.
