The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) in coordination with Amanda Thrash, president of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen, hosted a Young Healthcare Executive Cohort meeting for DFW administrative resident and fellows on Thursday, May 23 at Cook Children’s in Fort Worth. With more than 25 in attendance, the meeting served as an opportunity for future healthcare executives to network with DFWHC Board Members and hospital executives.

Thrash, the DFWHC 2023 Young Healthcare Executive of the Year, served as host and provided introductions. Rick Merrill, president/CEO of Cook Children’s; Natalie Wilkins, vice president of operations at Cook Children’s; Stephen Love, president/CEO of DFWHC; and Jen Miff, president of the DFWHC Foundation were in attendance. The administrative residents and fellows were also provided a tour of Cook Children’s.

“The DFWHC Board of Trustees initiated this program in 2017 for young healthcare executives under the age of 40,” Love said. “This program encourages collaboration, networking and mission-oriented programs to assist our up-and-coming healthcare executives in North Texas. As the 2023 Young Healthcare Executive of the Year recipient, Amanda Thrash becomes an ex-officio board member of DFWHC and serves as the lead coordinator of the Young Healthcare Executive Cohort. We would like to thank her for her dedicated work this year.”

Two additional events have been scheduled for September 26 at Parkland Health in Dallas and November 7 at Texas Health Presbyterian Allen.
