The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released its assessment of the American Health Care Act less than an hour ago.
“Among other things, it reduces Medicaid spending by $880 billion dollars and increases the uninsured to 14 million in 2018 and 24 million in 2026,” said W. Stephen Love, president/CEO of the DFW Hospital Council. “This is especially hard on Texas as we already have the highest uninsured rate in the nation. People will utilize the emergency room for primary care which is not designed for routine, primary care and is the wrong setting for this kind of treatment.”
