Barclay Berdan, CEO of Texas Health Resources, will receive D CEO’s 2015 Outstanding Healthcare Executive Award announced today by D magazine. In 2014, Berdan became only the second CEO in Texas Health Resources’ history, stepping into the shoes of long-time CEO Doug Hawthorne. Days into his tenure, the now-famous case of Ebola came to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas and Berdan found himself suddenly leading a system under the international microscope. Keeping the ship righted during an unimaginable storm was just one of several reasons D CEO awarded him for his efforts.

Berdan served as the 2001 Chair of the DFW Hospital Council Board of Trustees.

It was also announced Dr. Donald Seldin of UT Southwestern Medical Center would receive D CEO’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
