DFWHC announced in August it would present the 2014 Distinguished Health Service Award to Dr. Wright Lassiter, Jr. former chancellor of the Dallas County Community College District. Serving as the luncheon’s keynote speaker will be Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jon Meacham. Meacham’s most recent book, “Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power,” was a No. 1 bestseller. He received the Pulitzer Prize for “American Lion,” his bestselling 2008 biography of Andrew Jackson.

Becky Tucker, vice president of Integrated Health Campuses at Texas Health Resources, will be presented the Young Healthcare Executive of the Year Award. Carole Young, of Medical City Dallas Hospital, will be honored with the Kerney Laday, Sr. Trustee of the Year award. Performing the National Anthem is American Idol finalist Jason Castro.
