A special complimentary discount is available to all DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) hospital members to the Surgeons General Roundtable “Health Disparities Coming to the Forefront in the Era of COVID-19” on Thursday, September 24 at 6:00 p.m., CDT. Co-hosted by Texas Christian University (TCU) and The University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC), the virtual event will also include a screening of the documentary “Open Season: Racism and Health Disparities.”
The film is designed to shed light on the current state of emergency and inspire people to go beyond their perceived limitations and become more active participants in what the future of America can be.
The film will be followed by a live roundtable featuring several former Surgeons General of the U.S. as they discuss the problem of racial inequity in healthcare and how it can be addressed. Speakers will include Dr. Richard Carmona, Dr. Joycelyn Elders, Dr. Vivek Murthy, Dr. Antonia Novello and Dr. David Satcher.
