DESCRIPTION:The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) Foundation will be hosting its “Fifth Annual Sepsis Conference” on Thursday\, October 22 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.\, CDT at the Hurst Conference Center. The event will be held in the building’s main ballroom.\n\nThis conference is pre-registration only. Through September 18\, early-bird tickets are available for only $50. Fee includes breakfast and lunch.\n\nThis year’s event is themed “Sepsis is no Picnic!”\, with speakers and agenda listed here.\n\nPoster submissions\, Clover Award nominations and CE details can be found here.\n\nYou can register here.\n\nThe conference will be hosted by the Sepsis Strike Force. DESCRIPTION:Are you concerned for loved ones or your community and have a passion to help others? If so\, learn how to become part of the solution! The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) Foundation’s Community Health Collaborative (CHC) will host an in-person “Recovery Workshop: ROCC Stars Unite” on Friday\, October 23 from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m.\, CDT in the Denton County Courthouse located at 1 Courthouse Drive. The event will take place in Room 2020 on the third floor.\n\nWorking with UT Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW)\, the Association of Persons Affected by Addiction (APAA) and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)\, the program creates awareness about mental health and addiction recovery.\n\nIn this workshop\, peer support specialists will teach you concepts through an engaging presentation and discussion. This workshop is intended for the entire community. The 86th Legislature appropriated $45 million in 2019 to continue the Community Mental Health Grant Program in 2020 and 2021.

DESCRIPTION:The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) and Hall Render will co-host the complimentary webinar “Stark and Anti-Kickback Provisions in Health Care Real Estate Transactions: Key Drafting Considerations” on Thursday\, October 29 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.\, CDT.\n\nSpeakers will include Dougie Barnard\, Attorney at Hall Render; Alyssa C. James\, Attorney at Hall Render; and Stephen Love\, President/CEO of DFWHC.\n\nFraud and abuse considerations can have a significant impact on how health care transactions are structured\, documented and managed. Understanding where potential issues may arise—and how to address them in transaction documents—is critical to reducing risk and avoiding unintended compliance concerns. Join us for a practical discussion of key fraud and abuse considerations in health care transactions.
