An attendance of 800-plus is expected.\n\nThe award recipients will include: \n•	Duncan Webb\, former Chair of Medical City Plano and the Collin County Commissioner\, with the Distinguished Health Service Award;\n\n•	Barclay Berdan\, the long-time CEO of Texas Health Resources\, with the Boone Powell\, Sr. Award of Excellence;\n\n•	Graham Torres\, the Vice President of Operations at Children’s Health\, as the Young Healthcare Executive of the Year;\n\n•	Rev. Ralph Emerson\, the long-time board member of the Tarrant County Hospital District and JPS Health Network\, as the Kerney Laday\, Sr. Trustee of the Year.\n\nThis year’s keynote speaker will be Amanda Beard\, an American swimmer and seven-time Olympic medalist. Beard was just 14 years-old the first time she made an Olympic appearance\, often photographed clutching her teddy bear. Beard had the distinction of being the second-youngest American Olympic medalist in history. The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) Foundation’s Community Health Collaborative (CHC) will host an in-person “Recovery Workshop: ROCC Stars Unite” on Friday\, October 23 from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m.\, CDT in the Denton County Courthouse located at 1 Courthouse Drive. The event will take place in Room 2020 on the third floor.\n\nWorking with UT Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW)\, the Association of Persons Affected by Addiction (APAA) and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)\, the program creates awareness about mental health and addiction recovery.\n\nIn this workshop\, peer support specialists will teach you concepts through an engaging presentation and discussion. This workshop is intended for the entire community. DESCRIPTION:The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) and Leaning Towards Change\, LLC will co-host a series of Six Sigma webinars “Journey to Green Belt” beginning Thursday\, August 20. The classes will include:\n \n•	White Belt Class\, Thursday\, August 20\, 2:00-4:00 p.m.\, CDT\n•	Yellow Belt Class\, Wednesday\, September 23\, 1:00-5:00 p.m.\, CDT; Thursday\, September 24\, 1:00-5:00 p.m.\, CDT\n•	Green Belt Class\, Monday thru Friday\, October 19-23\, 1:00-5:00 p.m.\, CDT; Monday thru Friday\, October 26-30\, 1:00-5:00 p.m.\, CDT\n\nTanya Stinson\, MHQS\, CMBB\, MCBA\, CRP\, the Founder and CEO of Leaning Towards Change\, LLC and a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt\, will serve as instructor.\n\nCost is $1\,499 for the entire series. Join us for this great opportunity to earn your Lean Six Sigma Green Belt before the end of the year! These courses are entirely online.
