That’s quite a lineup!\n\n“We are thrilled about the speakers participating in the program this year\,” said Kristin Tesmer\, president of the DFWHC Foundation. “We have a famous author\, a great team of panelists and representatives from the American Hospital Association\, the Joint Commission and the Office of Inspector General. This is one of the most knowledgeable and prominent group of speakers we’ve ever had for the Summit. We are looking forward to hosting them.”\n\nFor a full agenda\, please click here.\n\nSince patient safety was first brought to light in the 1990s\, studies have shown a large number of patients harmed by preventable errors such as system failures\, human factors\, prolonged hospital stays and cost-cutting measures. Such errors can cause serious injury or death and result in billions of dollars in health care costs. The Patient Safety Summit serves as an opportunity for hospital employees to discuss past errors and to make strategic plans to keep them from happening again. More than 350 attendees are expected to participate\, including healthcare employees\, nurses\, patient safety advocates\, chief nursing officers and hospital executives.\n\nYou can register here.\n\nSponsorships are still available. SUMMARY:DFWHC/SendaRide webinar "Patient Transportation"
DESCRIPTION:The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) in coordination with SendaRide will host the webinar “Patient Transportation: How important is it in today’s industry?” on Wednesday\, July 24 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (CST).\n\nWith today’s research indicating more than 80 percent of health outcomes are tied to the social determinants of health (SDoH)\, the evolution of the healthcare industry is moving towards value-based care. Healthcare organizations of all types – payers\, providers\, hospitals and even employers – will increasingly incorporate SDoH tools to improve healthcare quality\, cost and patient satisfaction.\n\nSome initiatives such as the provision of patient transportation can easily document a strong “Return on Investment” while meeting these goals.\n\nWebinar attendees will learn:\n•	Why patient transportation is a smart investment;\n•	How patient transportation can improve a community’s health status;\n•	How to overcome transportation ‘‘deserts”;\n•	How to choose the right transportation partner in an increasingly regulated industry.\n\nLaura Fleet\, CEO and founder of SendaRide\, and Greg Meyers\, director of strategic growth at SendaRide\, will serve as speakers with DFWHC President/CEO W. Stephen Love providing the introductions.\n\nYou can register here.\n\nFor information\, please contact Chris Wilson at chrisw@dfwhc.org.
