SUMMARY:CANCELLED - Foundation's 24th Annual Employee of the Year Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:It is with great regret the DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) Foundation announced today the cancellation of the in-person segment of the 24th Annual Employee of the Year Luncheon scheduled for September 16 at the Hurst Conference Center.\n\nWhile the Luncheon has been cancelled\, virtual recognition of hospital employees and award recipients will still take place\, with a video to be created honoring the many healthcare heroes working so diligently during the COVID-19 pandemic.\n\n“In discussions with our board of trustees\, we decided it was in the best interest for all involved if the Employee of the Year Luncheon was cancelled due to the COVID-19 virus\,” said Jennifer Miff\, president of the DFWHC Foundation. “This was not an easy decision\, as it has never been more important for us to honor our North Texas healthcare heroes working tirelessly during this pandemic. Since the luncheon attracts approximately 800 attendees\, we believe in the current COVID-19 environment such a gathering would not be a good public health decision.”\n\nThe 100-plus nominees provided to the DFWHC Foundation team will still be judged and awarded. Announcements and a virtual video honoring these hospital employees will be available in September.\n\nNew\, decreased sponsorship packages have been developed with recognition to be provided during the virtual video celebration. Sponsors already participating will have the option to stay at their current contribution or adjust to a Gold ($1\,000) or Silver ($750) level.\n\nFor questions\, please contact EOY@dfwhcfoundation.org.

SUMMARY:CANCELLED - DFWHC's 72nd Annual Awards Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:It is with great regret the DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) announced today the cancellation of its in-person 72nd Annual Awards Luncheon originally scheduled for October 14 at the Irving Convention Center.\n\nWhile the Luncheon has been cancelled\, virtual recognition of the recipients of the Distinguished Health Service Award\, Young Healthcare Executive of the Year Award and the Kerney Laday\, Sr. Trustee of the Year Award will still take place\, with a video to be created honoring these important friends of healthcare.\n\n“Following a meeting with our board of trustees\, we decided it was in the best interest for all involved if the Annual Awards Luncheon was cancelled due to the COVID-19 virus\,” said Stephen Love\, president/CEO of DFWHC. “It was not an easy decision to cancel an event that has honored so many heroes over the decades who have supported quality healthcare in North Texas. Since the luncheon attracts approximately 1\,000 attendees\, we believe in the current COVID-19 pandemic such a gathering would not be a good public health decision.”\n\nYoung Healthcare and Kerney Laday\, Sr. nominees are still being accepted until the July 17 deadline. The DFWHC Board of Trustees will judge the nominees and announce the recipients in August. The Distinguished Health Service Award\, an honor dating back to 1947\, will also be determined by the Board and announced during the same month. A virtual video honoring these recipients will be posted and distributed in October.\n\nNext year’s Annual Awards Luncheon has already been scheduled for October 20\, 2021 at the Irving Convention Center. This year’s original keynote speaker Jim Craig\, will serve as speaker during the event.\n\n“We are thankful to the Irving Convention Center and Jim Craig for graciously working with us during these difficult times\,” Love said. “We are looking forward to hosting our Luncheon in Irving and hearing Jim Craig’s patriotic message.”\n\nFor questions\, please contact Chris Wilson at chrisw@dfwhc.org.

SUMMARY:DFWHC and Accenture Webinar "Texans Want Virtual Healthcare"
DESCRIPTION:The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) and Accenture will co-host the webinar “Texans Want Virtual Healthcare. Here’s How Providers Can Grow from It.” on Wednesday\, October 14 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.\, CDT.\n\nThe complimentary event will examine a groundbreaking Texas survey by Accenture detailing the surprising results of telehealth usage during the COVID-19 pandemic. The survey revealed over twice as many Texans utilized telehealth for preventive care\, checkups\, diagnosis or treatment following the virus outbreak. In addition:\n\n•	One-fourth (25%) of Texans surveyed said they first learned about virtual healthcare following the outbreak of COVID-19;\n•	Approximately nine in 10 Texans (89%) surveyed believed that virtual care options should be available to everyone.\n\nThe panel discussion will include Mark Olney\, Chase Parks and Laura Zhang of Accenture. DFWHC President/CEO Stephen Love will serve as host.\n\n“The survey revealed a lot of Texans got a taste for what it’s like to see their physicians and specialists from the safety and comfort of their home\,” said Olney\, a managing director in Accenture’s Health practice and the study’s lead author. “Now patients are eager to get more of that access\, convenience and time savings.”\n\nThe study also notes that rural Texans\, in particular\, have much to gain from access to virtual healthcare.\n\n“Riding the momentum in virtual care\, Texas hospitals have an opportunity to play a bigger role in caring for rural communities and other underserved populations\,” Olney said.\n\nYou can register here.\n\nFor information\, please contact Chris Wilson at 972-719-4900 or chrisw@dfwhc.org.

SUMMARY:DFHWC and CarePort webinar "Care Transitions"
DESCRIPTION:The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) will be co-hosting a webinar with CarePort Health to detail “Care Transitions and Coordination” this Thursday from 10:00 a.m. To 11:00 a.m. CDT.\n\nWith many hospitalized COVID-19 patients requiring post-acute care to continue their recovery\, managing patient transitions can be challenging. To help its acute and post-acute partners during the COVID-19 pandemic\, CarePort implemented COVID-19 product features to streamline the hospital discharge process and foster safe patient transitions from the hospital to the appropriate post-acute setting–which in turn helps protect staff and patients and preserve valuable personal protective equipment.\n\nCarePort provides care coordination software solutions to manage patient transitions across the continuum. CarePort’s end-to-end platform bridges acute and post-acute EHRs\, providing visibility for providers\, payers\, and ACOs into the care that patients receive across care settings so that all providers can efficiently and effectively coordinate patient care.\n\nYou can register here.\n\nFor information\, please contact Abby Bobo at 512-813-7667 or abobo@aesllc.org.

SUMMARY:DFWHC's Annual Awards Luncheon Virtual Video
DESCRIPTION:We hope everyone has been able to stay safe during this trying year. Yes\, the COVID-19 pandemic has challenged our society. But during this difficult time\, we have witnessed first-hand our hospital healthcare heroes rising to the occasion. We have never been prouder to work with our hospital employees and leaders.\n\nUnfortunately\, we had to cancel the in-person Annual Awards Luncheon this year due to safety reasons. But per the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council’s Board of Trustees\, we believe it is our duty to honor this year’s dedicated friends of healthcare. And so\, a tradition that has taken place in North Texas for over 70 years will continue virtually.\n\nThis year\, we will honor recipients for the Distinguished Health Service Award\, the Young Healthcare Executive of the Year Award and the Kerney Laday\, Sr. Trustee of the Year Award. Our Board of Directors is judging the nominees at this very moment\, with recipients to be announced on October 5\, 2020. We will acknowledge these healthcare heroes with a video to be posted online October 21\, 2020. The video will be themed\, “Not All Heroes Wear Capes…\,” with a detailed career tribute to the recipients.\n\nDiscounted sponsorship opportunities are available. Whether you would like to share your support of our dedicated hospitals or simply an opportunity for prime exposure\, we have created this package for you. Ad and logo space will be available within the video\, which will be distributed to our hospital members and across North Texas.\n\nPlease note\, in honor of the tremendous work of our hospital members\, we decided to make their sponsorships complimentary this year. All hospitals and hospital systems in the region will be participating.\n\nJoin us in celebrating these healthcare heroes inspired by the belief that better health makes a better community. We appreciate your consideration.\n\nTo participate as an Executive Sponsor\, simply click on the graphic below.\n\nYou can also download the form here (https://dfwhc.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/SponsorshipsExecutive2020.pdf.
