DESCRIPTION:The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) and Warrior Centric Health will co-host the webinar “Elephant in the Waiting Room: The BIG Quality & Safety Issue You’re Overlooking” on Thursday\, February 20 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.\, CDT.\n\nSpeakers will include Evelyn Lewis\, MD\, MA\, FAAFP\, DABDA\, Co-Founder and CMO of Warrior Centric Health; Ron Steptoe\, CMR\, DABDA\, Co-Founder and CEO of Warrior Centric Health; and Stephen Love\, President/CEO of DFWHC.\n\nAmerica’s military veterans\, national guard\, reservists and their families comprise one of the nation’s largest and most at-risk populations. Because of their experiences\, this Warrior Community emerges from service with gaping physical and mental health disparities. While you might assume they get their healthcare through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)\, most do not. They are in commercial health facilities\, few of which screen for military service. Fewer still are prepared to treat their “invisible wounds.” The result: health disparities\, sub-optimal care\, high readmission rates and sometimes tragic consequences.
