SUMMARY:DFWHC and KRLD's "The Human Side of Health Care"
DESCRIPTION:The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) has decided to continue to host the weekly radio program “The Human Side of Healthcare” on KRLD 1080 AM throughout the New Year of 2022.\n\nThe program\, airing every Sunday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. and 7:00-8:00 p.m. CDT\, showcases the activities of North Texas hospitals. The weekly broadcasts will run for 52 weeks throughout the year.\n\n“We had such positive feedback in 2021 that we thought we should continue to spread the word on the many projects of our North Texas hospitals\,” said Stephen Love\, president/CEO of DFWHC. “This radio program will continue to detail chronic illness\, social drivers of health and children’s healthcare.”\n\nSince the COVID-19 outbreak two years ago\, the program has devoted a weekly segment to provide updates on the hospitals’ efforts to battle the pandemic in the metroplex.\n\nKRLD 1080 AM serves the DFW Metroplex and North Texas with a news/talk radio format. It is a Class A station broadcasting at 50\,000 watts\, the maximum power allowed for American AM stations. It has a listening range covering a 30-county area of North Texas\, Central Texas and Oklahoma. It is also broadcast nationwide on Radio.com.\n\nOn a weekly basis\, Love (above photo\, left) works with Thomas Miller (above photo\, right)\, a broadcast journalist at KRLD\, to develop the programming. SUMMARY:DFWHC Foundation's “Mental Health Recovery Workshop”
DESCRIPTION:Are you concerned for loved ones or your community? Do you have a passion to help others? If so\, please learn how to become part of the solution! The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) Foundation’s Community Health Collaborative (CHC) will be hosting a new “Recovery Workshop: ROCC Stars Unite” program on Sunday\, November 13 from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m.\, CDT. This will be a complimentary virtual event.\n\nWorking with UT Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW)\, the Association of Persons Affected by Addiction (APAA) and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)\, the program creates awareness about mental health and addiction recovery.\n\nIn this workshop\, peer support specialists will teach you concepts through an engaging presentation and discussion. This workshop is intended for the entire community. The Community Mental Health Grant Program was established by House Bill 13\, 85th Legislature\, Regular Session\, 2017 and authored by Representative Four Price. The 86th Legislature appropriated $45 million in 2019 to continue the Community Mental Health Grant Program in 2020 and 2021.
