SUMMARY:13th Annual Patient Safety Summit - Virtual Event
DESCRIPTION:Have no fear\, the 13th Annual Patient Safety Summit is here! Previously scheduled for August 12\, the event will now take place virtually over four two-hour sessions via webinar on September 10\, 17\, 24 and October 1.\n\nThis year’s keynote speaker is Meagan Johnson\, the hilarious and motivational generational expert.\n\nTopics will include the Steady and Rise Resiliency Method; Patient and Family Engagement; Active Trigger Surveillance; Mental Health; and Health Literacy.\n\nThis year’s virtual event will be offered at a reduced cost of $120 for all four sessions or $30 for a single session. There are also discounts for groups of 10 or more.\n\nContinuing education credits will include 7.75 CNE’s\, CPHQ and ASHRM\, as well as ACHE Qualified Self-Reported Credits.\n\nPoster submissions will also return this year\, shared via the Internet. DESCRIPTION:A special complimentary discount is available to all DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) hospital members to the Surgeons General Roundtable “Health Disparities Coming to the Forefront in the Era of COVID-19” on Thursday\, September 24 at 6:00 p.m.\, CDT. Co-hosted by Texas Christian University (TCU) and The University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC)\, the virtual event will also include a screening of the documentary “Open Season: Racism and Health Disparities.”\n\nThe film is designed to shed light on the current state of emergency and inspire people to go beyond their perceived limitations and become more active participants in what the future of America can be.\n\nThe film will be followed by a live roundtable featuring several former Surgeons General of the U.S. as they discuss the problem of racial inequity in healthcare and how it can be addressed.
