HICATT Live! – Health Informatics

Classes for Health Informatics Curriculum and Training Transformation (HICATT) are now open for registration. Titled “HICATT Live!,” this free, in-person, group tutorial workshop provides a live venue to review HICATT curriculum and other activities about data analytics. The goal of the workshop is to help you retain and apply the data analytics content to your daily work activities.

“HICATT Live!” topics include:
• Introduction to Health Care Data Analytics;
• Working with Data;
• Communicating Data Analysis Results.

Employed health care professionals working in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, accountable care organizations and other settings are eligible to participate.

Participant Requirements:
• Advance registration is required. You can register here;
• Participants will need a laptop with internet access. No tablet devices. Students should be familiar with the basics of logging onto a personal computer and the concept of using a spreadsheet to track and manage information. Students will get instruction for manipulating a Microsoft Excel® spreadsheet to analyze sample data. Mac laptops need to run MS Excel 2013® or later.

Each class is limited to 30 participants. Dates and locations include:

HICATT is led by UTHealth School of Biomedical Informatics (SBMI) and funded by the Office of National Coordinator (ONC). The grant funding is providing free informatics training to help health care professionals advance care transformation for patients. The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) Foundation is a grant partner with UT Health SBMI and is offering training to North Texas healthcare providers.
