Tenet Healthcare Corporation corporate headquarters in Dallas will celebrate National Volunteer Month in April with employee service projects benefitting eight non-profit community organizations. The company’s goal is to provide 1,000 hours of volunteer service during the month.

“At Tenet, our mission is to help people lead happier, healthier lives and we know this mission extends far beyond the walls of our hospitals and other operations,” said Dan Waldmann, Tenet’s senior vice president of Public Affairs. “We are committed to making a difference in the communities we serve and proud to support the important work of these eight exemplary non-profit organizations as they address challenging issues facing our hometown.”

Tenet employees will volunteer with the following organizations:
• April 4 – Visiting Nurses Association (creating shelf-stable meals for homebound seniors)
• April 6 – Dallas Afterschool (assembling Wonder Kits that help afterschool programs run a hands-on, engaging activity for their students)
• April 10 – North Texas Food Bank (sorting and packing donated food)
• April 13 – Trinity Park Conservancy (helping clean up the Trinity River’s Pavaho Wetlands area as part of the Conservancy’s annual Corporate Day of Service)
• April 18 – Rebuilding Together North Texas (providing home repairs for a veteran and family)
• April 20 – Community Partners of Dallas (donating and assembling bikes for children served by Dallas County Child Protective Services)
• April 24 – Operation Kindness (working with homeless animals and completing a landscape project at the largest no-kill animal shelter in North Texas)
• April 26 – Crossroads Community Services (distributing donated clothing and food for low-income individuals and families)

Additionally, during April Tenet will hold a clothing drive for new and gently-used clothes and shoes for low-income families served by Crossroads Community Services. Donations can be made directly to Crossroads Community Services at 1822 Young Street, Dallas, TX 75201.

“There is no doubt that we are a company of caregivers at Tenet,” said Maria Martineau Plankinton, Tenet’s community relations advisor. “Our employees want to give back to our communities and help those in need so we are very pleased that we could create this volunteerism initiative in Dallas. Our senior leaders will serve as co-captains for each volunteer outing, further demonstrating our corporate support of volunteerism and giving back. We appreciate everyone involved and know that together we are helping change lives for the better.”
