UTSW Global Health Conference begins Friday

The UT Southwestern Office of Global Health will be hosting its 5th Annual Conference this Friday and Saturday in the T. Boone Pickens Biomedical Building, 6001 Forest Park in Dallas. Titled “Grand Challenges in Global Health: Strengthening Health Systems across Borders,” the conference is from 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Friday and 8:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on Saturday.

The event will be hosted by Dr. Fiemu Nwariaku, associate dean of the Office of Global Health and a professor in the Department of Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. The event includes more than eight speakers and will be highlighted by a special Global Health System Panel to include Dr. Frederick Cerise of Parkland Health & Hospital System, Dr. Alexander Eastman of UT Southwestern and Zachary Thompson of Dallas County Health & Human Services. The panel will be moderated by Dr. Mary Chang of UT Southwestern.
